George Barringer
George Barringer, 88, Dublin, OH, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2017, at Glenwood Assisted Living, Dublin.
George was born on August 22, 1928 in Youngstown, OH to the late Chester and Mary Grubb Barringer. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Leo Barringer and Glen Barringer
On April 10, 1982 in King of Prussia, PA, he married Judith Davis Day and she survives. He is also survived by two step-children, Julie (Ramzi) Jaraki of Gross Pointe, MI, and Mark Day of Dublin, five step-grandchildren, Alex, Adam and Emily Jaraki, and Graham and Reid Day, a brother, Douglas (Harriet) Barringer of Ormond Beach, FL, and a sister, Irene Patton of Boardman, OH.
George was a 1946 graduate of Canfield High School, received technical training at Goodyear in Akron, OH, and studied photography. George was a member of MENSA, INTERTEL and the Experimental Aircraft Association. He received his small plane pilots license and took great pleasure in flying small planes. He was naturalist at heart, and enjoyed reading and watching NASCAR.
Chaplain Dennis Barnhart will begin funeral services at 11:30 am, Saturday January 14, 2017 at Shoffstall Funeral Home North Chapel, 115 N. Main St. Lakeview. Burial is in Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta, OH.
Memorial contributions may be given in his name to Kindred Hospice.
