Carl Wilson Taylor
Carl Wilson Taylor, 89, of Lakeview, OH passed away Saturday afternoon, September 10, 2016 at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima, OH.
Carl was born on March 8, 1927 on the family farm in McArthur Twp, Logan Co, OH to the late Harry W. & Clara McCormick Taylor. He was preceded in death by a grandchild, Kendra Green and six sisters, Virtie Harford, Ruth Zimmerman, Marie Hites, Betty Snapp, Irene Oakley, and Lena Harford.
On August 25, 1948, he married the former Wanda Neal in Covington, KY and she survives along with their four children, Leonard (Karen) Taylor of Huntsville, OH, Harry (Sue) Taylor of Lakeview, Doris (Walter) Smith of Lima, and Rodney (Nancy) Taylor of Russells Point, OH, 11 grandchildren, Jan (Ken Hickman) Losh, Len (Katy) Taylor, Trenton (Amber) Green, Tonya (Kirby) Taylor, Misty (Lou) Ross, Miranda (Brian) Dietz, Wade (Tina) Smith, Jamie (Phil) Baldauf, Josh (Mikayla) Taylor, Kalie Taylor, and Sheldon Taylor, 20 great grandchildren, Brooke, Carlie, Skyler, Makenzie, Brandan, Andrew, Addilynn, Kayla, Kierstin, DJ, Gage, Jordan, Jordyn, Airie, Lucas, Emma, Tyler, Tanner, Tracen, and Hannah, one great-great grandchildren, Taylor, a sister, Wilma Buffenbarger of Waynesfield, OH, a sister-in-law, Wilma Neal, and several nieces and nephews.
Carl was a lifelong farmer, carpenter and “Jack of All Trades”. He was a WWII veteran of the United States Army. He was life member of Roundhead VFW. Carl enjoyed gardening, fishing, and caring for his apple orchard. His greatest love in his life was his wife, Wanda, of 68 years and his family.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am, Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., Lakeview. Visitation is Wed, September 14th from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Burial is in Walnut Hill Cemetery, New Hampshire, OH with military honors provided by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.
